About the DH range.

This range of fold flat dog cages are built to combine safety and durability. You want your dog to have the best and we aim to make that possible.

They are made of heavy gauge steel which will contain the most Houdini like dog. These crates are built to last  - Before the final finish they are fully galvanised to give long term protection against rust and then finished in hammerite to ensure that there are no bare metal surfaces which will be in contact with the dog.
We know of no other cage which offers this double coating, so prolonging cage life and maximising safety.

They have twin doors for maximum flexibility and a heavy duty non rattle plastic tray - easy to keep clean and with no dangerous sharp edges. All doors are bolt action, designed to be dog safe - the bolt has to be raised before being drawn to keep the most ingenious dog safely contained and they are extremely easy to fold and put up.

The picture on the left shows just how strong our cages
are, you can't do that with a standard cage!

To the right is a picture showing the Galvanised panels
used in the cages. The bottom half of the panel has had
the  powder coating removed to show the galvanised
steel frame beneath. This will prevent rusting even in
the event of the powder coating being chipped or
 scratched.

Why Choose Our Cages?

Our cages have rounded
corners for strength and safety.
Cheaper cages are spot welded
at the corners giving a sharp edge
and potential 'spike'
if the weld breaks.

Cheap cages Cheap cages Our cages

These cages are constructed of heavy gauge steel, not cheap thin wire. The thicker the steel the greater the strength, and the stronger the welds
(Look at the pictures above, if two people can stand on a cage it’s strong) On our cages the frames are 4mm gauge wire with rounded corners for added safety.
The mesh is 3mm gauge. Also look at the distance between the mesh. Larger spacing between the wire means reduced strength. The spacing we favour is 25mm x 100mm. For our giant cage the mesh size is 25mm x 125mm.

The door catches we use are “dogsafe” This means that they have to be raised before being drawn. The bolt is thick 5mm gauge– because you need extra strength here!!

Metal tray or plastic? A metal tray is often a cheap tin tray with no serious protection against corrosion. It will have sharp edges which can injure your pet. When you disinfect it any coating to protect against corrosion will be reduced. And if you use it in a car it will rattle. We use heavy duty plastic trays – they slide out for easy cleaning, they are very robust, they are not damaged by cleaning and they have no sharp edges.

Why A Doghealth cage?

You will see that our prices are higher than those of some other vendors. Look carefully at our pictures and we have tried to summarise the key points of difference with our crates. We sell a high quality product which is why at the last count we have sold over thousands of crates on this site alone.

Our Philosophy

We specialise in supplying crates for show dog owners and professional users ( e.g. police, military, security companies, veterinarians) – Our customers insist on guaranteed safety, security and convenience.

Features of a Doghealth fold flat cage

We have designed our cages for the UK , not just bought a load of cheap universal crates. Our design incorporates SAFETY, DURABILITY, SECURITY and CONVENIENCE all at a superb price.

1 designed for SAFETY.
So there are no sharp edges spikes or corners which can harm you or your pet. So if you look at the pictures below you will see that all corners are rounded with no sharp edges. Likewise, we do not use metal trays which have sharp edges. Importantly, the final coating on the crate is a non toxic hammerite finish so there is no possibility of a dog ingesting any toxic substance through licking.

2. Designed for DURABILITY.
You cannot expect a lightweight cage to have a life much over one season. The clips go, the welds break open the paint chips and rust sets in. With a Doghealth cage, we build to last. All our cages are firstly
galvanised to prevent any corrosion and then secondly powder coated to ensure that the dog is not exposed to a metal coating. This process ensures a safe and long life for the cage.

3. Designed for SECURITY.
It is surprising how a dog can force its way out of a poorly manufactured cage. So we use heavy duty wire to manufacture the cage and we don’t economise on the clips which attach the panels together. All doors are twin bolted with special dog safe bolts that have to be lifted before they are pulled open.

4. Designed for CONVENIENCE.
All crates have twin doors, the finish makes them easy to keep clean, they fold and erect easily. Carrying handles are designed to be comfortable for the user. The hammerite finish is designed to be easy to sponge down so there is no excuse for poor hygiene!

We are a member of The Petcare Trust and the Traders Guild, and as such when you purchase from us you have absolute assurance that we are a reputable supplier.

Our direct purchasing from the factory means we can offer a show quality dog cage for the price of a cheap economy model.

Features
* heavy duty steel frame
* fully galvanised pre coating to the cage. This protects the steel against
  rust problems.
* secondary " hammerite" powder coated finish to ensure there
are no dangerous sharp edges. This coating is streets ahead of the cheap
black epoxy coatings on economy crates as well as not having the
potential toxicity of non painted cages
* twin door for maximum convenience
* dogsafe bolts to prevent escape
* heavy duty plastic tray. This won't rattle in the car and has no dangerous
sharp edges. It even slides out for easy cleaning.
* easy to fold down and erect.
